The project targetted the following IPs to demonstrate how they can be transformed into EIPs: IP Patriot (Sumy, Sumy oblast), IP Molfar (Teresva, Zakarpattia oblast) and IP Kalush Industrial Hub (Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk oblast). These IPs received support from the project for the implementation of EIP and RECP opportunities at their resident companies.

The scope of services covered the identification and involvement of a minimum of 20 companies from IP Molfar and from IP Patriot in capacity development on EIPs, as well as in identification and implementation of RECP and IS opportunities. The main industrial sectors of IP Patriot are light industry, sewing, and packaging sectors, while IP Molfar is specialized in the wood furniture industry. In addition, we also facilitated the development of a feasibility study to renovate the manufacturing buildings at IP Kalush Industrial Hub (IP Kalush).


Description of activities :

– Capacity-development events: Two capacity-development events (one day each) were organized (one at IP Patriot and one at IP Molfar), targeting at least 20 representatives of tenant companies and city/oblast administration (per event). The purpose of the event was to motivate company representatives to sign an agreement with UNIDO to join the project and undergo a RECP assessment. 

– Selection of at least 20 companies from IP Patriot and IP Molfar that were supported by the project for RECP and IS measures implementation

– Assessment of the companies: on-site RECP and IS assessments for 15 resident companies at IP Patriot and IP Molfar.

– Organized and ran two industrial symbiosis identification workshops

– Industrial symbiosis pre-feasibility studies

– Organized and ran two IS validation workshops

– RECP and IS implementation

– Monitoring and summary of achievements
